More information
Professional black anodised aluminium bonsai wire in 100g rolls, from 1mm through 6mm. Soft enough to apply without marking bark, strong enough to hold a branch exactly where you set it.
The dark anodised finish blends into the tree while styling, and the aluminium removes cleanly without tearing when the branch has set.
Choosing a size
As a rule of thumb, use wire about one third the thickness of the branch you are shaping. Most stylists keep 1.5mm to 3.5mm on the bench for branch work, with 4mm and above for trunks and heavy primary branches.
Approximate roll lengths: the finer the gauge, the longer the roll; a 100g roll of 1mm runs many metres, while 6mm suits short trunk sections.

Which size do I need?
Use wire about one third the thickness of the branch you are shaping. When between sizes, go up a size; you can always double-wire two thinner wires together.
