More information

Mineraland Diatomaceous Earth is a lightweight, highly porous growing medium made from the fossilised silica skeletons of microscopic algae (diatoms) - a naturally abrasive, absorbent mineral. In its granular 3–6mm form it's a brilliant soil conditioner, soaking up water and nutrients then releasing them steadily to the roots while keeping your mix open and free-draining.

Use it on its own as a semi-hydro medium, or blend it through potting, bonsai and succulent mixes to improve aeration and drainage. It's durable, holds its structure and resists compaction, so the benefits last for years.

Features

  • Made from naturally abrasive, absorbent diatom silica
  • Highly porous - retains water and nutrients, then feeds them back to roots
  • Improves aeration and drainage, helping prevent waterlogging and root rot
  • Durable granular structure - resists breaking down and compacting over time
  • Lightweight and versatile - great in garden soil, potting mixes, or as a hydroponic/semi-hydro medium

Perfect for

  • Bonsai, succulent and cactus mixes
  • Improving drainage and aeration in potting soil
  • Semi-hydro and hydroponic growing
  • Free-draining top dressing
