More information

Mineraland Scoria is a natural volcanic rock prized for its rich colour and porous, vesicular structure. It's a hard-working garden aggregate that improves drainage and aeration while looking great as a decorative top dressing  available in striking black or red.

Formed from cooled basaltic lava, scoria is full of tiny air pockets that stay porous even after milling. Unlike pea or aquarium gravel, it actively aerates your mix rather than just filling space, and it's more durable and longer-lasting than pumice thanks to its larger, thicker-walled vesicles.

Features

  • Superior drainage and root aeration for healthy plant growth
  • Naturally contains silica, calcium and trace minerals
  • Durable and long-lasting - thicker vesicle walls than pumice
  • Sharp edges help deter pests and rodents when used as a top dressing
  • Striking natural colour - black or red, especially eye-catching with variegated plants

Perfect for

  • Blending into potting, bonsai and succulent mixes for drainage
  • Top dressing pots and garden beds
  • Decorative landscaping and feature pots
